About This Coffee

This is a distinct and vibrant blend, coming from 3 different origins spanning across South America, Asia and Africa.

It was the citrus aroma that first got us hooked, but upon tasting we identified complex flavours, including chocolate, nuts and lemon. The cocoa aftertaste gives it a pleasant finish. This blend is has medium-high acidity, and a medium body. Our favorite brew? Espresso!

All specialty grade Arabica beans. Sourced from farms that share our love for the land. Hand roasted and in small batches. Blended in house by our team. Cupped regularly  to make sure there’s consistency. Because here at Perk we make sure we know what coffee you’re having. And that the coffee you enjoy is the coffee we enjoy too.

Dialing it in

Trying a new coffee is a kind of adventure! You’re leaving something you’re comfortable with and trying something new. New rules apply. I found this blend to be hard for me to “dial in” regarding how much of the grind to use and how long to let it steep in order to get the proper balance of the flavors to come out without excess bitterness. I’m very aware that it may be a procedural error on my part or just my subjective experience. Once I got it figured out it was very “three dimensional” in that I could taste distinct levels of flavor

Maverick - Perfect blend of beans

The aroma of the coffee is pleasant, without being over-powering, with an earthy aroma. The blend has a robust taste of coffee, kinda expected from a medium-dark roast. I like that it’s a blend of beans from my personal 3 favourite regions. Perhaps, that’s the reason I bought it immediately when this was released! It has the flavours of somewhat chocolate and hazelnut, which I like personally. 👍
