Wilfa Svart Aroma CGWS-130B coffee grinder comes with an upgraded DC motor for silent, accurate operation. It has steel coated conical grinding burrs, so it produces very little heat, helping to preserve the delicate aromas and flavours of your beans. It has 34 different grind settings to suit almost every brewing method (although not fine enough for espresso, moka pot – yes!). The bean holder and the ground coffee container is made from UV protected plastic to keep the coffee beans protected from sunlight.

This grinder gets the job done

I didn't regret getting this electric grinder. Having to use Hario Skerton ceramic grinder for couple of years now, I decided its time to switch to an electric grinder as I struggle to get up early and rush to work. Manual grinding simply cant get the job done in time. From minutes to seconds at a press of a button. The only down side so far is the odd shape container for the coffee grounds. I have to brush it off the corners to get every ounce out completely. Grinding noise is abit loud but its only for that few seconds. Or else its a good equipment to have if you are a regular coffee person that makes your own cup of fresh coffee daily. Besides, it does not occupy much space in the kitchen. Perkcoffee delivery is extremely efficient. it only took 2 days to deliver the grinder in perfect condition in a nice reusable bag that I can use it to do grocery shopping.

Reliable grinder

The grind that was produced by this grinder is very consistent. The recommendation on the grinder serve as a very good general starting point and from there we can experiment with the grind size to get the perfect brew. If not, it is very hard to know the starting point if the grinder just gave us numeric number and we have to figure out what is medium, medium fine ext. Although I have to say, it does not produce espresso grind so if you are thinking of making espresso, you might want to consider another product. But if you are making Moka pot, aeropress, pour over and French press, it will be good to have this grinder around to save all the time twisting on that manual hand grinder. Build quality The grinder have a very solid built with quality metal finishes and it is very aesthetically pleasing. However, the container that contains the coffe grounds have a very weird shape and you could make a mess transfering your grounds to the v60, French press. The power switch feels quite cheap as it does not provide me with a very satisfying click from a $200 product. The timer knob too have a very cheap feels when turning it does not offer enough resistance or feedback by clicking and it feels like you are turning a knob that is faulty. The coffee hopper also does not provide a air tight seal so I would not recommend store the beans in there even though it is UV protected. Leave them in the zip lock coffee bags that come with your coffee when you order from perk coffee. The hopper could be removed to facilitate a better cleaning experience but sadly we could not have access to the burr to do a proper wipe down. Overall complaints Same with all the grinders, a small amount of grind will be stuck in the machine to remove them we could gently tap the whole grinder by its side to knock off the grounds stuck in the machine. Static with the grounds is also very crazy however it could be solved by the Ross droplet technique (YouTube it, James Hoffman have a video on it and it is very simple to remove all the static) Overall, this is a very well built grinder with minor flaws. It produces very consistent grind size and it is a very good upgrade from a cheap hand grinder coffee. If you are serious on coffee brewing and not pulling shots of espresso anytime soon, this is a very good investment and I believe this product can last for years because of its metal sturdy built.
