This Limited Edition microlot is a processed coffee comprising the varietals USDA and S795, which were introduced to Indonesia in the 1950s due to its resistance to coffee leaf rust.
This coffee is produced by family-owned farms located in the Kintamani highlands on the island province of Bali, Indonesia. Coffee production in this region typically goes through the traditional Subak Abian structure of the agricultural organisation – the ecologically sustainable irrigation systems developed more than 1,000 years ago by Hindu priests. It was around 2009 that the farmers began processing their coffees using the natural method as a means to address the water scarcity. This coffee boasts unique complexity, thanks to the remarkable skill and passion of the farmers, and is roasted to a medium profile to highlight tropical fruitiness.
