I was choosing between this moka pot or one of those portable hand espresso makers to help me make my cuppa at home during Movement Restriction Order. In the end, I went with this despite some reviews online saying it makes bitter coffee. Why? Because I was very curious about learning how to make coffee with a simple pot and stovetop minus all the frills. Plus I love how it looks. And I must say, this little pot is quite underrated. There is a little bit of a learning curve but nothing a few YouTube videos couldn't solve. Once you get it, it is able to produce good tasting coffee. So good that I can actually taste the tasting notes of the beans which I did not expect with this humble looking pot (I normally drink mine with milk). Of course, use only fresh beans. Although I have to add, if you are looking for something that makes espresso, this is not it. I was initially looking for the single cup brewer but it was out of stock so I settled for the 3 cup one which was a blessing in disguise as this was just nice to make 2 cups (with milk). 1 cup per pot if you prefer your coffee stronger. So just like how it has charmed it's way into most Italian households, this little pot has now charmed it's way into my heart. Very happy with my purchase from Perk.
