Coffee connoisseurs, turn your noses up all you want. Maybe you don’t consider decaf coffee as coffee at all! But for some of us, all we wanna do is chill… while not missing out on a delicious cup of coffee.
Love a late latte
There are those of us who insanely love our coffee but can’t drink it far into the night. For me, any caffeine past 3 pm means it’s gonna be a late night… and I mean early hours of the morning late. I always feel slightly sad when everyone’s sipping on a coffee with dessert after dinner and I am hot-drink-less because the establishment we are dining at does not have a decaf coffee option.
Shakes and eye twitches
We also don’t want to forget those of us who forgo coffee at times (or always) despite loving the aroma and flavour… Why? Because the caffeine gives us the shakes or eye twitches! Any more than three cups for me and I feel a bit wonky š.
Perk Coffee’s decaf coffee
I’m not hoping to convince hardcore coffee fans that you should go decaf. I’m not even gonna tell you that you should just try it. What I will tell you about is this particular bean from Perk Coffee.
Perk Coffee recently released their freshly roasted decaf option and I am so excited. Now when making coffee for friends at a dinner party, I myself will be able to relax and enjoy a cuppa of hot (or cold) brewed liquid gold.
Yes, perhaps it’s true that decaf coffee isn’t ALL decaf. But the amount of caffeine in a cup is far less. For me it’s at an acceptable non-insomniac level.
Huila from Colombia… whole bean decaf coffee
Perk’s Huila Decaf is from Colombia and has beautiful flavour notes of milk chocolate and malt wafers.
Lovingly grown by a collective of smallholder farmers in the fertile foothills of the Andes Mountains, the beans are harvested and processed using the washed method. This produces a beanĀ that receives its flavour distinctly from the origins and environmental conditions from which it grew. Perk’s decaf is oh-so-easy to drink, even late at night or when I just want that one extra cup of coffee.
Perk Coffee only roasts their Huila Decaf fortnightly. Like all their coffee, they roast to order so you never get a stale bean. While they’ve had a decaf option in their PerkPods named Defiant for a while, the pods have a longer shelf life. Perk’s Huila Decaf whole beans, on the other hand,Ā arrive at my door having been freshly roasted only a few days before. Perfect for an evening espresso, latte or pour over.
